Vector Exploration Project

The Project

The creation of a graphic poster to display data, incorporating a series of uncommon symbols driven by horror, heavy metal and tattoo culture.

The Process

I started this project with research into a range of areas including flash tattoos, low brow art, cheap 90's advertising lockups and templatised iconography.

From there I began digitally rough out each icon individually, addressing size, scale and spacing independent of each part.

I also began to review space filling content, creating a small series of unique icons drawing inspiration from design trends and symbolism.

The Solution

The final deliverable included a digital A3 poster along with the creation of an SVG. file for each icon to be used as a stand along item or as a series of icons.
